We concluded the first phase of the pilot project investigating the use of artifical intelligence for diabetic retinopathy screening and vascular risk stratification. The study involved 200 diabetic patients in a endocroinologist practice in the Western Cape Province and produce valuable info for future development of low-cost screening procedures for diabetes complications.
